Online therapy is a specialism and should be undertaken by a therapist with credible experience and training, allowing them to work safely and effectively with their clients. If you are thinking about having online counselling or psychotherapy, ask the therapist about their online training and experience and their approach to working online.
I have been an online therapist and supervisor since 2012, managing a team of online counsellors and training dozens of therapists to work in this medium both nationally and internationally. I continue to train and advise online counsellors and mentors on safe practice. I am a member of ACTO, the leading UK online counselling and therapy organisation and am currently serving on ACTO’s executive committee. ACTO has a register of trained members. I can be found on their directory here Next Steps If you feel that online therapy may be the right approach for you and you would like to find out more about working online with me, please contact me via email, my phone number, or the contact form on this page. Upon arranging an initial appointment, I will send an online counselling agreement and details for online payment. Here is a checklist of things you will need in place to engage in online therapy
